Looks like we (almost) made it, folx! After countless comments, amendments, and votes, Phase 1 of the Seattle Comprehensive Plan is going to a final council vote at the end of this year. With all the hard work that has been done, our City Council has earned some thanks, so the Complete Communities Coalition is inviting you to our upcoming in-person letter writing event.
We saw the passage of key amendments that will expand corner stores citywide, expand bonuses for more affordable housing and social housing, and stacked flat and green stacked flat bonuses to encourage more homes and more trees. There’s a lot to be proud of, and the impact this will have on housing capacity in the city can’t be overstated. While we didn’t see the passage of CM Rinck’s amendment 34, which would have added 8 new Neighborhood Centers across Seattle, we’ll be tracking its progress as it undergoes additional SEPA review.
We'll have all the necessary resources and information that you'll need; all you need to bring is yourself (and maybe a friend!).
